EXPLORING:

I'm writing the second part of a three-part immersive play. Since last term, I've been trying to look at all aspects of my life creatively so I'm also doing as many visual projects as I can--I'm making paper fans, drawing line drawings and framing them, putting together a short film to go with a short monologue I wrote. I don't have a place or long-term goal with these visual projects, they help keep my brain excited and engaged. I'm trying to approach the second part of my play with that mentality because the play itself feels like it needs to stretch and encompass a few mediums (media?) to tell its story effectively. I'm desperately trying to maintain a sense of play while I create and now I will move on and not get mired in a political diatribe.

INSPIRATION FOR PROJECT:

Mary Fons's solo show, "Performing Tonight: Liza Minnelli's Daughter" (2011)
Rough House Theater's "Sad Songs for Bad People" (2015)
Mr. Robot
Peaky Blinders
any novel written by Mary Doria Russell
