BIO

Liz is a teaching artist/acting coach/voice actor/child life specialist from Waukesha, Wisconsin. Liz received a B.A. in Theatre Performance with a minor in music from Western Michigan University and a post-baccalaureate concentration in Child Life (a profession rooted in Child Development and the understanding of how a child's development can be influenced by times of crisis such as, hospitalization, abuse, death, and grieving) at Edgewood College in Madison, WI

As a teaching artist, Liz saw first-hand how empowering and cathartic it can be to create/develop characters or watch the experience of others on stage. She learned how theatre coupled with understanding the developmental and psychosocial needs of children and the way they process their life experiences, could offer not only an incredibly rich experience, but endless opportunities to relate with children on their level and encourage expression and creativity. Liz strives to offer a safe place to explore and cultivate a curiosity of all aspects of theatre while inspiring a lifetime appreciation of the craft.

EXPLORING:

A weeklong Theatre Workshop for participants entering grades 6-9, rooted in exploration and creation while understanding and incorporating the developmental needs of the young participants. The week will focus on all elements of theatre and will culminate with a performance of a musical. As the wife of a professional technical theatre person, I have become aware of the lack of exposure to technical elements of theatre at a young age and want to foster a curiosity about all aspects of theatre. I hope to create a safe place for children to explore, share and know they belong.
