We hope you’ll join us for…
We all need time away - a break from our routine, and space to step back from our lives and take a breath. Our retreats provide space for artists to relax, reflect on their work, find inspiration while hiking the rolling hills of the Kettle Moraine, engage with founding Midwives in Midwife sessions, enjoy organic, locally sourced meals, and breathe deep the fresh air of Wisconsin around a campfire under the stars.
Our artistic retreats have two goals: to inspire and nourish artists, and cultivate new relationships and community.

Testimonials
“The retreat was magical. I felt both incredibly productive and incredibly relaxed during the experience. Being in the presence of different artists working together but independently was imensely gratifying. The retreat coordinators did an excellent job of making sure there were a variety of options for people depending on what they needed in terms of space, community time, activities, etc.
”
“The artist retreat gave me space and time set apart from the everyday. I was able to focus on my artistic self for a short time, ask what was important to pursue in my work, and refine my ideas with the help of workshops, midwife session, the quiet of the outdoors, healthy meals, yoga and the fellowship of other creative souls. The retreat was all-encompassing in its support of the artist in that I was stretched, reminded and encouraged to find my voice.”
“The Midwives retreat was extremely rejuvenating. I participated in every offering and it filled my soul with artistic, creative power. It showed me that I am not alone, I am capable of great things and that there is major power in nature/food.”
THE MIDWIVES' mission is to reimagine artistic community and cultivate the artist in everyone. For the past three years, we have experimented with what peer support and mentorship can look like - what we call Artistic Midwifery. Our aim is to not only nurture an artist’s project, but the artist as a whole person. We seek to bring value and widen our concept of artist - to acknowledge the creativity in each person and everything we do.
